Compartive Study Three Ideas and Final Photoshop idea
I have designed three ideas for my double page spread. My film which I am basing it on is 'Nightmare On Elm Street'. The first idea which I have designed was the familar Freddy Kruger Hand which I put into the middle of my double page spread. I found some examples of 'Nightmare On Elm Street' which really helped me to understand the basic things which I needed to put onto my double page spread. I have noted that for my double page spread there will be a lot more writing than a poster. Some of the things which I liked about this are the simple colours which are red, black and white.

Harry Raising Arizona and Fargo
Arizona and Fargo were two black comedy films which were directed by the coen brothers. I really Liked Nicolas Cage in Arizona because he played an over stereotypical character which was quite commerical. Some of the main scenes which were presented outrageous was leaving the baby in the middle road, raiding a bank with a baby and silly fight scenes. I thought 'Fargo' was more interesting because it was bit dark and had horrific storyline.

Harry Lesson 1&2 : Introduction to film studies
My first lesson was about the introduction to film studies and I found very interesting because incredible amount of things which were really useful and insightful in the media industry. Some of the topics which Harry introduced use to were Hollywood, Bollywood, Sub-genres and main genres. I learnt that some of the different aspects between Hollywood and Bollywood are the culture and hybird genres. Hybrid genres are a mix of genres. For example, thriller and romance could be one. After we had discussed some of the main points of Hollywood and Bollywood differences, we got into groups and choose a genre to look at and discuss some of the things about. Our group choose horror and we discussed the following questions:
Q1 The disadvantages in creating this genre?
Q2 What are the themes of Horror?
Q3 Name some famous actors or directors who have been in a continous horror serie?
Q4 what is the usual synopsis of a horror film?
Q5 Name some famous Horror films?
I will answered these questions in a group of three, this will help us to make our info graphic and give us ideas for our info graphic.
The answers that we discussed in our group were:
Q1 The disadvantages in creating this genre?
The storyline has to be perfect in the plot and has to grab the audience on a scare thrill.
Q2 What are the themes of Horror?
Dark and grim colours. Usually a psychotic killer or a monster.
Q3 Name some famous actors or directors who have been in a continous horror serie?
Courtney Cox
Wes Craven
Q4 what is the usual synopsis of a horror film?
A group of teenagers usually in a dark setting (e.g barn, graveyard, castle) being chased and killed by a villain.
Q5 Name some famous Horror films?
Scream 1-4
Nightmare of Elm Street 1-7
Blair Witch Project
Harry introduced us the win/learn/change/ method, I found this helpful because it gave me a method which I can use for my own work and use it to improve my grades for my work.
When I started to plan out my info graphic idea which was being base on the horror genre, I drawed out a mind map to help me think of ideas. I came up with three ideas and they were:
1. The first idea was about a demon hand coming up to grab a womans face through some fire which is imflaming her. The information would go on the tips of the fingers and also, it would go just above the fire.
mind map
2. The second idea for my infographic horror was an info-graphic of the frankenstein head. In the background their would be a chalk board with the style of a numeric or arcanic font style text. This is where the information would go.
3. The third idea for my info-graphic was a spooky horror house similar to the amitiville house. Also, there would be some trees and bushes.
My chosen Final and developed Idea :
My final idea which I have chosen was number three because I felt that it is easy for my audience to distiguish what genre it is. They can tell that it is a horror because of the colours which are dark colours (e.g black, red and blue). I have made the setting in my infographic 'A classic Horror' nothing too confusing which may relate to another genre.
